Please contact me at christel@cvvcounselling.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Freud first coined the term "the talking cure". When we move thoughts from our mind out into the world it shifts our perspective on them as they pass under the gaze of another with curiosity, not judgement. Together we can both think about your experience of the world and what informs it. Understanding what "makes us tick" is the path to mastery over those things we feel control us or that we might like to change or manage.
The length of time it takes to see results from counselling sessions varies depending on the individual and the issues being addressed. Some clients may see improvements after just a few sessions, while others may require longer-term therapy.
My standard fee is £60.00 for each 50 minute session. We will see each other each week until you feel you are ready to end our time together. There is an option to move to bi-weekly sessions as we work towards an ending if you wish.
I use Zoom as it's important that the service is secure and confidential. Free online video platforms you may be more familiar with often use your data as a commodity. You will not need to download the Zoom app (excl. mobile) - we can connect the call on the internet via their website. You simply click the link I'll send, then click on "Join from your Browser" at the bottom of the Zoom launch screen. You'll then enter the Waiting Room where you can check to make sure you have a working microphone and camera and I'll start the session at our allotted time.
I'm a Level 4 qualified Integrative Counsellor - this means I draw from all schools of counselling to tailor the approach to the individual in front of me. I'm registered with the BACP who govern ethical practice in the profession and my registration number is 00972802.
I work with people from the age of 18 plus
I hope in the first incidence we can speak about this together and see if we can resolve the issue. If not you can escalate to the BACP who monitor the profession. To do this, or to take a look at the ethical framework I'm governed by, their website is: www.bacp.co.uk. Hopefully this safety net gives you some peace of mind.
